Something all seniors look forward to from freshman year is the Mother Senior Luncheon. This year’s luncheon for the Class of 2014 took place on May 2nd in the Merion’s gym. “It was a wonderful bonding experience and a great way to spend time with my mom as well as my friends and theirs moms,” said Victoria Principato (’14).

The mass was a beautiful celebration of how all mothers have a huge impact of their daughters’ lives and how much their daughters are thankful for their mothers. “I’m really happy my mom and I had the opportunity to go to mass together. It was such a nice way to spend quality time together especially in the presence of God and my friends and their moms,” said Olivia Nostrante (’14). The seniors who are a part of the ministry team, who also participated in the mass, included their mothers in the mass; from bringing up the gifts to the Responsorial Pslam it was a collaborative effort. This made the mass much more engaging and unique for the seniors and their mothers.

“I had such a great time at the Mother Senior luncheon with my mom! It is something I will never forget especially when I go off to college next year and I don’t get to see my mom every day,” said Ally Hect (’14). The luncheon included entertainment from the Merion acapella group, the ‘Merionnettes’ as well as seniors who are a part of the choir. The Mother Senior Luncheon is, and always will be, a celebration of the special bond between mothers and daughters.
