Freshmen, freshmen are you ready… for a great school year?!  Freshman year is the most exciting and yet nerve-racking year of high school.  It’s a fresh start.  The beginning of new journey.  Everything is different – a new school, new faces, and lots and lots of changes.  Thanks to some freshmen willing to spare a few minutes from their busy schedules, here’s a look into some “2020 vision.”

Q:  How are things going so far?

Ava Ferry:  Fantastic! I’m really enjoying all of my classes and the great opportunities that are being given to me.

Maggie Flannery:  Being a freshman is great. Everyone is nice, and it’s been fun getting to know everyone.

Olivia Squillante:  So far Merion is great! I made a lot of new friends and joined so many new clubs. It’s so fun so far!

Q:  Is MMA different from your grade school experience?

Ava Ferry:  Absolutely. I came from a small school with only thirteen people in the 7th and 8th grade classes.  Also, here at Merion I have more freedom than I did in middle school.

Maggie Flannery:  Yes. It’s very different because it’s bigger, and I have much more freedom.

Olivia Squillante:  Merion is way different than my grade school.  There are no boys and the building is so much bigger!

Q:  What are you looking forward to in the next four years?

Ava Ferry: I’m looking forward to being able to grow not only as a student but as a person. I am excited to see what the next four years will bring me!

Maggie Flannery:  I’m looking forward to seeing all of my friends everyday and enjoying the time I have in this amazing school!

Olivia Squillante:  I’m looking forward to becoming closer with my friends, trying new things, and learning and growing as a person.

Well, there you have it, a look into Merion through the eyes of a freshman.  We like to call it “2020 vision.”  Thank you to all the girls who were able to talk to us about their experiences!  Good luck in the next four years and beyond!
