It’s that time of year again and court is in session!  The MMA Golden Bears are preparing to have a great season.  Last year, the team greatly improved as the season came to a close, and now they are ready to pick up where they left off.  As Kevin Durant once said, “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard.”  Even though they may not be ranked #1, the girls worked hard during every practice and improved each day.  Instead of throwing in the towel and giving up, the team fought its way back during each and every game.

However, the team will once again need to work even harder with the loss of eight varsity players. Of these eight girls, one of them is Jada Smith.  Last year, she scored her 1,000th career point against St. Basil Academy.  This was a tremendous feat for Jada since she is only the fifth player in MMA basketball history to score 1,000 points. Now, all eyes are the basketball team as the real challenge begins.  Everyone is waiting to see how our Golden Bears will adjust to losing so many crucial members of the team.  Best of luck to the new and returning players!
