On Friday, March 9th, Merion mothers and daughters celebrated a long-time tradition at the Hilton Hotel on City Line Avenue. This MMA event provides a heartwarming environment filled with many laughs, smiles, and lots of love.  The annual fashion show offers a chance for the mothers and daughters of the Merion Mercy community a chance to deepen their bond with each other, as well as with their fellow mothers and daughters. With the theme of “Merion Brings Us Home,” cute travel decorations, such as hot air balloons and nearby neighborhood signs, emblazoned the room.  The event began with a cocktail hour, during which the girls and mothers could mingle with one another, take professional pictures, and participate in a 50/50 raffle and auction. Over the course of the night, these raffle tickets were chosen and numerous girls won prizes. Prior to the dinner, Sister Barbara addressed the audience, leading everyone in a beautiful prayer.  She also thanked the countless mothers and volunteers who made the event possible.

After dinner was finished, the real show began!  Twenty four girls from the MMA Senior class walked the runway, showcasing a variety of new fashion styles that featured brands like BCBG and Betsy and Adam.  All of the clothing worn by the girls were provided by Lord and Taylor. Each model received personalized hair and makeup styles that matched their outfits. From the countless smiles and laughs, every person present could attest to the girls’ fun and enjoyment.  Throughout the evening, the room was filled with love and well-deserved appreciation for one’s mother. This annual fashion show concluded with a Senior dance party on the runway, commemorating and celebrating their final Mother Daughter Fashion Show.
