Spotlight: Maddy Larkin


For the Spotlight Article, I interviewed Maddy Larkin, a current senior at MMA. She has been involved in all of the musicals at MMA and has lots of experience with singing and dancing. Unfortunately, the 2018 musical, 9 to 5, was Maddy’s last musical at MMA. I thought it would be interesting to interview her on her experience of being involved in MMMT.

Sophia: What are you going to miss the most?

Maddy: The people, the cast really becomes a family during our months of practicing. I’ll miss spending time with them everyday.

Sophia: Do you get nervous before you go out on stage?

Maddy: Most of the time, I get nervous during the first fifteen seconds of being on stage, but once I start singing and dancing my nerves start to calm down.

Sophia: What is your favorite thing about your character in 9 to 5?

Maddy: I like how optimistic she is. I feel like she pulls out my best qualities and exemplifies all of them so it’s really fun to act as her

Sophia: What is your favorite thing about being involved in the musicals at MMA?

Maddy: Growing closer to the people over the span of three months. I love the musicals more than the plays because of the songs and dancing.
