Soph Hop 2018

On beautiful Saturday April 14th, freshmen and sophomores gathered at Merion Mercy Academy to attend Soph Hop. Soph Hop is the semi-formal annual spring dance for freshmen and sophomores. All who went to Soph Hop had a blast!

This year’s theme was “An Evening on the Red Carpet.” The Gym, Lyceum, and Dining Commons were decorated to the nines with red, gold, and life-size Oscar cutouts. Sunglasses that made each attendee look like a movie star floated around. Those who attended could spend all night dancing away in the gym, snapping a photo or two at the photo booth, or helping themselves to Chick-fil-A nuggets in the Dining Commons.

After leaving the dance, many girls happily looked back at their favorite parts of the dance. For Freshman Catherine Montgomery, her favorite part was when the songs from High School Musical were played. She explained, “I always love listening to old Disney songs! It makes me so happy to sing and dance to them with my friends.”

Merion Mercy Academy’s Sophomore and Freshmen class made wonderful memories at Soph Hop. The freshmen class looks forward to next year.
