Peanut Butter Spider Cookies

Spooky season is here! So why not celebrate with these creepy peanut butter spider cookies! These delicious cookies are easy to make and sure to impress everyone during your Halloween celebrations.


  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 ¾ cups flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup shortening
  • ¼ cup sugar for rolling
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • Candy eyes
  • Frozen Miniature Reese’s cups


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Beat together shortening, peanut butter, egg, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, and milk in a large bowl.
  3. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  4. Add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and beat until well blended.
  5. Form the mixture into 1 inch balls.
  6. Roll in sugar and place the cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden.
  8. Take out the cookies and quickly press the Reese’s in the middle. Allow cookies to cool.
  9. Stick on candy eyes and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
  10. Put chocolate chips in the corner of a ziplock bag and put in the microwave for 20 seconds.
  11. Cut the corner of the bag and make legs for your spider cookies.
  12. Refrigerate for 10 minutes to allow time for the legs to dry.
  13. Enjoy!
