Miss Mercy, December: Spotlight

Miss Mercy, December: Spotlight

“Let us take one day only in hands at a time. Resolve to do good today and better tomorrow.” – Catherine McAuley

What activities are you involved in at MMA?

I am involved in crew, photography club, and yearbook (Meriannal).

How do you spread mercy throughout the Merion community?

I spread mercy by simply smiling in the hallways. I always enjoy when someone smiles at me, so I know that I will, hopefully, brighten someone’s day with a simple smile. I also think it’s important to ask how someone’s day is going, and for that person to know that someone is listening.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?

This is very cliché, but the best piece of advice that I received is to treat everyone with kindness. Everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and respect, and if you treat someone with them, you will receive them in return. I also have been taught to not regret any day, to live each day to its fullest. I feel that being happy and positive will help me to have a good day.

Do you have any advice on how others could work to spread mercy throughout the Merion community?

We can all spread Mercy through simple little things. A smile will brighten someone’s day, and a hello in the hallways reminds people that someone is listening and there to support them.
