Kairos Fall 2018

Kairos Fall 2018

I interviewed Shannon Kohler ‘19 about her experience on Kairos. She went on Kairos in the fall of 2018. In the interview, she talks about her own experience and  gives advice to people who are debating whether or not to go on the retreat.

For anybody who hasn’t experienced the Kairos retreat, what advice would you give them?

“The most important thing is to go in with an open mind and be open to the whole experience. Your own experience will be unique but no matter what, you will come out of it with new friendships that will last forever.”

Were you nervous during the time leading up to the retreat?

“Yes, I was very nervous because I didn’t know what to expect. I am the type of person who likes to know what is happening, so going into something blind was way out of my comfort zone.”

Do you have any advice for those who are questioning if they want to participate in the retreat?

“To anyone who is apprehensive about going on the retreat, it was truly one of the best experiences I have ever had. At Merion, we are so privileged to have the opportunity to experience the Kairos retreat and I think everyone should participate. There are so many benefits from Kairos and it’s the perfect time to connect with yourself, God and the other retreatants.”
